A Queen wasp, sitting on her nest. Well I am assuming it is a queen. I do not care much for wasps, in recent years I got stung just under the thumbnail and I have yet to forget the amount of pain such a sting causes. I had my bike locked to a bike rack and the nest was inside the pipe.
Sunday...I think...I was chomping on a fuji apple and I spotted a wasp. I thought I would take a look and saw this tiny...protonest...for lack of a better term.

OUCH!! Under the thumbnail? My husband got stung last year by a wasp hiding in our mail. I thought he was having a heart attack from the way he yelled. And that was only on the arm. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I had been sleeping at the time.
