A long walk off a short rock

Perhaps my title needs to be explained?

I was down by the lake today, admiring the large whitecaps. Usually when we go the lake is pretty calm, the water is clear and you can occasionally see carp swimming around. BIG carp...dangerous flesh eating monsters; but not today. Chances are all the dead carp, sturgeon, seagulls and ducks were washing up onto the stony beach beach behind us.

We had been admiring a small duck-like water bird diving under the large waves but I was interested in catching water in motion. So here I was clicking away at the waves and finally I get a lovely spray... but yes one more pic... EEEPS *thump*... oogh. The barrier thing I had been walking on, abruptly ended and I found myself face planted into one of the giant rocks. My knee burned and my elbow stung like a son of a cessna. My poor right knee started to ache like crazy. Its got an injury that gets agitated and will cause me issues when I am an old and withered.

Caspar had been watching the duck when he turned around and noticed me sprawled out on the rocks. I am not sure what the old man must have thought of when he walked by. He didn't ask if I was okay, no broken arms? No, Sunstar is fairly resistant, but I do bruise easily.

First thing I did after plopping my aft on the stone and swallowed my pride, was to hand my camera over to Caspar and ask him if it was okay. I can afford a cast or a crutch, but I can't afford a new camera if it had broken. But fortunately for it, it was fine.

So, the moral of this story is watch where you are going when taking photographs.
